Binding Unfolded is a free reference. By reading it you agree to these terms, which are short because the site asks nothing of you: no account, no payment, no data. If you do not agree with them, the only thing to do is not use the site.

Reusing the content

The text, diagrams, frame images and comparison tables on this site are original work by Binding Unfolded and are protected by copyright. You may link to any page, quote short passages with attribution and a link back, and use single diagram frames in teaching, coursework, reviews or commentary with the same credit. Republishing whole pages, redistributing the diagram set, or presenting the material as your own is not permitted. For anything beyond the uses above, write to the contact address first.

Quotations from third-party sources that appear in the reference notes remain the work of their authors and are reproduced under fair use, with a link to the original.

Accuracy and what the diagrams claim

Every diagram is a representative schematic, not to scale, and says so on the page. None claims a measured angle, a dimension, a durability rating, a page capacity or a cost. Where a page states a figure, it is quoted from a cited source in that source's own words. The Methodology page explains how claims are checked and corrected, and every page shows its last review date.

The site is provided as is. It is a general reference, not professional advice, and it is not a substitute for a bindery's or printer's specification for a particular job. Binding Unfolded is not liable for decisions made on the basis of these pages. If you find an error, report it and it will be checked against the sources.

Trademarks

"Wire-O" and "Otabind" are trademarks of their respective owners. They appear on this site only to name the binding systems they refer to. Binding Unfolded has no connection with, and no endorsement from, those owners or any bindery, printer or supplier named in the references.

External links

Reference links point to the sources a claim came from: bindery guides, conservation dictionaries, craft and academic pages. They are citations, not recommendations. Binding Unfolded does not control those sites, does not vouch for anything on them beyond the claim cited, and receives nothing for linking to them. There are no affiliate links on this site.

Advertising

The site may carry advertising served by Google AdSense to cover its costs. Ads are labeled as such, sit apart from the diagrams and their controls, and never appear on this page, the privacy page, the contact page or error screens. Advertisers do not influence the content. How advertising cookies work, and how to opt out or withdraw consent, is set out in the privacy policy.
